Job description

  • Install, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Install cable pathways including J-hooks, cable tray, conduit, and ladder rack.
  • Install and dress network racks, cabinets, patch panels, and cable management systems.
  • Install wireless access points, network switches, security cameras, and other low-voltage devices.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams.
  • Label and document all cabling according to project standards.
  • Perform cable certification testing and troubleshoot installation issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, and team members.
  • Follow OSHA safety guidelines and company safety procedures.

Requirements

This is NOT an entry-level position. Applicants must have hands-on experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting structured cabling systems in commercial environments., * Minimum 3 years of commercial structured cabling experience.

  • Experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and cable layouts.
  • Experience installing network racks, patch panels, cable management systems, and cable pathways.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders and lifts.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Fluke cable certification testers.
  • Fiber optic termination and testing experience.
  • Experience installing IP security cameras and wireless access points.
  • BICSI, OSHA 10/30, or manufacturer certifications are a plus.
