Ruby on Rails Developer - INTL - India

We’re seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to support the migration of an existing Rails application from a legacy API to a new API. This role is hands-on and backend-focused, working within an established production system.

The engineer will split time between core development work (API migration and refactoring) and ongoing Shopify-related engineering support under a shared support model.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute a Ruby on Rails API migration

• Refactor backend services, integrations, and data flows

• Write, test, and deploy production-ready code

• Perform release testing, bug fixes, and regression testing

• Support Shopify-related engineering requests

• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to ensure system reliability

6+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails

• 2+ years supporting or migrating applications within AWS

• Strong software design, testing, and release support

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering or related field - Exposure to AI / Generative AI (Claude, RAG, etc)

• Shopify, e-commerce, or fintech experience
