SALARY RANGE $171,000 - $228,000/year. DUTIES As a successful candidate for the Systems Engineer III role, you will perform system engineering tasks utilizing the Forward Networks platform while becoming familiar with the commercial tool and quickly developing proficiency in its use. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the platform, including setup and maintenance of data collection tasks, and leverage the tool to model and visualize network infrastructure in order to verify network behavior and ensure network compliance. Additionally, you will provide technical support through user training, reporting, and documentation related to the Forward Networks platform, collaborate with external teams to resolve technical challenges, and serve as a technical expert and mentor to junior engineers.

SKILLS Manage system and derived requirements to ensure delivery of production systems aligned with defined architectures, including DoDAF and SOA

Develop, analyze, allocate, and maintain system, functional, and lower-level requirements, ensuring completeness, correctness, traceability, and verifiability

Contribute to and review systems engineering documentation, including Systems Engineering Plans, Initial Capability Documents, Requirements Specifications, Interface Control Documents, and JCIDS artifacts

Provide technical leadership for system design, architecture development, integration, and end-to-end lifecycle engineering activities

Generate and evaluate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions considering cost, risk, complexity, reuse, scalability, and lifecycle impacts

Define verification and validation methods, processes, and criteria, and plan early verification of new and unproven designs

Participate in Integrated Product Teams and coordinate cross-discipline activities, including design reviews, program reviews, test reviews, and Configuration Control Board actions

Establish and manage interfaces, capturing interface definitions in a common control format and repository

Develop and implement SOA-based solutions and produce operational, system, services, and technical standards views using applicable DoDAF standards

Manage and maintain the technical integrity and configuration of the system baseline throughout development, deployment, and operations

Assess, monitor, and mitigate program risks using approved risk management processes, trade studies, and earned value management data

Support certification and accreditation activities and Information Assurance requirements, including confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, availability, and security mechanisms

Develop concepts of operation, operational scenarios, and system threads describing interactions between users, systems, and environments

Conduct system trade analyses and quantitative assessments of non-functional performance areas, including reliability, maintainability, survivability, and vulnerability

Review and provide input to work breakdown structures, work packages, integrated master plans, and integration strategies

Provide technical direction for requirements elicitation, functional allocation, system requirements reviews, architecture development, integration, and testing across complex hardware and software systems
