Job description

  • Answer, evaluate and prioritize requests for assistance from staff experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other IT related issues.
  • Escalate complex issues to Level 2 support providing a detailed report of steps taken.
  • Install computers, software, and peripheral equipment.
  • Repair of computers, software, and peripheral equipment.
  • Troubleshoot phones, networks, projectors, doc cams and any other technology used by students or staff.
  • Support audio and visual equipment at various ALA events.
  • Train users on software and hardware on-site.
  • Maintain records of work in progress and completed jobs.
  • Maintain a moderate level of proficiency in software and applications supported by IT.
  • Required to lift up to 50 pounds in support of hardware installations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effectively interacting with staff and students.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively
  • A commitment to providing excellent customer service and support to users.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a school environment.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing technology needs., * High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in IT support or a related field technical role, preferably in an educational setting
  • Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems, common software applications, and basic networking concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
