Job description

  • Monitor and inspect critical facility infrastructure, including electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Perform routine inspections of UPS systems, PDUs, switchgear, backup generators, ATS, and battery systems.
  • Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Monitoring Systems (EMS), and basic SCADA for alarms and equipment status.
  • Conduct equipment walkthroughs, meter readings, and document system performance.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance, commissioning, and system upgrades.
  • Respond to alarms, identify abnormal operating conditions, and escalate issues promptly.
  • Support HVAC and cooling infrastructure, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and fire protection systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors and ensure all work follows safety and operational procedures.
  • Work in a mission-critical environment where equipment uptime and reliability are essential.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a critical facility such as a data center, hospital, pharmaceutical, industrial manufacturing, utility, or other mission-critical environment.
  • Experience monitoring or maintaining critical electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Working knowledge of BMS (Building Management System), BAS, EMS, or SCADA.
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
  • UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply)
  • Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
  • Switchgear
  • Backup generators
  • Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
  • Battery systems
  • Chillers and HVAC equipment
  • Experience performing equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and responding to alarms.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a 24/7 critical operations environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to quickly identify and escalate issues.
  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical training preferred.
  • Basic Microsoft Office/computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Data Center or Critical Facilities experience.
  • HVAC or Electrician license.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS).
  • Strong safety awareness and experience working in industrial or mission-critical facilities.
