Services for Independent Living (SIL) is a well-established Herefordshire charity supporting people to live independently in their own homes and communities. We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive IT Support Officer to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract, working 30 - 37.5 hours per week, to help us maximise the value of our technology and systems.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, supporting colleagues, improving processes, and making a real impact through technology. You’ll work across the organisation, helping staff use systems effectively while driving improvements that support the delivery of high-quality care services., As our IT Support Officer, you will be the go-to person for day-to-day IT support and systems administration. You will work closely with colleagues across Homecare, Supported Living, HR, Finance, and Operations, as well as managing relationships with our external IT support providers., * Supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel and Word.
- Providing first-line support to staff across the organisation.
- Acting as the main point of contact for our external IT support provider and software suppliers.
- Maintaining IT equipment records and asset inventories.
- Supporting the administration of systems including People Planner, Care Planner and BrightPay.
- Developing and improving automated processes and workflows using tools such as Power Automate.
- Supporting GDPR compliance, data security, file management and retention procedures.
- Creating user guides and delivering training to improve staff confidence and digital skills.
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, streamline processes and reduce administrative burden.
Requirements
We’d love to hear from you if you are:
- A strong communicator who can explain technical issues in a clear and user-friendly way.
- Experienced in supporting users with IT systems and software.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft 365, including SharePoint administration.
- Familiar with GDPR requirements and secure data management.
- A proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Organised, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within the charity, health or social care sector.
- Knowledge of Access products such as People Planner or Care Planner.
- Experience with BrightPay or similar payroll/HR systems.
- Understanding of information security principles., * Kind, reliable, compassionate, and honest

Other requirements
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Flexibility, including occasional unsocial hours
