Job description

  • Perform rack and stack installation of network and telecommunications equipment.
  • Install, terminate, label, route, and dress fiber optic and copper cabling in accordance with customer standards.
  • Perform fiber optic testing, troubleshooting, and certification using OTDR and other fiber testing equipment.
  • Interpret test results and identify fiber faults or performance issues.
  • Install and support DC power infrastructure, including equipment powered from existing DC distribution systems.
  • Perform Moves, Adds, and Changes (MAC work) within active data center environments.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, rack elevations, cable run lists, and installation documentation.
  • Maintain accurate installation records, redlines, test documentation, and closeout packages.
  • Follow established quality control procedures and customer installation standards.
  • Troubleshoot installation issues while minimizing impact to production environments.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety policies, change management procedures, and data center operational requirements.
  • Work closely with fellow technicians to complete daily project assignments across multiple buildings within the campus.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on OTDR testing experience.
  • Minimum 3 years working as a Data Center Technician in enterprise, colocation, or hyperscale data centers.
  • Strong experience with:
  • Rack and stack installations
  • Fiber optic installation and termination
  • Fiber troubleshooting and certification
  • Structured cabling
  • Cable management and labeling
  • DC power connections from existing distribution systems
  • Experience working in live production data center environments.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and installation documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship., * Experience supporting colocation or hyperscale data center environments.
  • Experience with Moves, Adds, and Changes (MAC work).
  • Familiarity with customer quality standards and documentation requirements.
  • Experience supporting network infrastructure deployments.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • BICSI Installer certification is a plus.
