Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy (CCPA) is seeking a dedicated and student-centered MTSS Math Support Specialist to provide targeted mathematics intervention for students in grades 68 who require additional academic support.
Working within the school’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework, the MTSS Math Support Specialist will collaborate with teachers, administrators, intervention staff, and families to improve student achievement through data-driven instruction, individualized intervention plans, and ongoing progress monitoring. This position plays an essential role in helping students strengthen foundational math skills, close learning gaps, and achieve academic success.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide targeted small-group and one-on-one math interventions for students in grades 68.
- Implement evidence-based instructional strategies aligned with Ohio Learning Standards.
- Use assessment data to identify student needs and develop individualized intervention plans.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on performance data.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional support and intervention strategies.
- Participate as an active member of the school’s MTSS Team.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, intervention services, and assessment results.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and intervention goals.
- Support the development of a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
- Attend MTSS meetings, professional development sessions, and other school meetings as required.
Requirements
- Experience working with middle school students (grades 68) preferred.
- Knowledge of MTSS, Response to Intervention (RTI), or intervention frameworks preferred.
- Strong understanding of mathematics instruction and intervention strategies.
- Ability to analyze assessment data and use it to guide instruction.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to supporting the academic success of all students.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Experience using student performance data to inform instructional decisions.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency with educational technology and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
