Job description

National Capitol Contracting is seeking a SharePoint Specialist to join our team in support of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The USPTO fosters innovation and economic growth by administering the nation’s patent and trademark systems. This position supports administration, operations, maintenance, and enhancement of the agency’s SharePoint Online environment and Microsoft 365 collaboration services while providing operational support, customer assistance, and implementation activities.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Administer and maintain SharePoint Online sites, pages, libraries, lists, permissions, and collaboration workspaces supporting enterprise operations.
  • Support configuration, customization, implementation, and maintenance of SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, Power Automate, and Power Apps.
  • Assist with SharePoint site creation, content management, governance activities, metadata management, and information organization.
  • Respond to customer requests, troubleshoot SharePoint issues, and coordinate escalated technical issues with engineering personnel.
  • Support production operations through platform monitoring, incident investigation, documentation, and operational maintenance.
  • Develop knowledge articles, user guidance, operational procedures, training materials, and technical documentation.
  • Support testing, deployments, upgrades, migrations, and implementation of collaboration platform enhancements.
  • Track activities using ServiceNow, maintain operational reporting, and document service requests and resolutions.
  • Recommend process improvements, SharePoint enhancements, and collaboration best practices supporting agency business processes.
  • Ensure SharePoint services are administered in accordance with established governance, security, accessibility, and operational standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience administering SharePoint Online within an enterprise Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft 365 collaboration services.
  • Experience supporting customer requests, platform administration, documentation, and operational maintenance.
  • Experience troubleshooting SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 collaboration platforms.
  • Strong communication, customer service, analytical, and organizational skills., * Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Associate.
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform App Maker Associate.
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 collaboration services in a Federal Government environment.

Benefits & conditions
