Sr. Oracle DBA (Offshore)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Oracle DBA to join our offshore consulting team. The successful candidate will support mission-critical Oracle databases for enterprise customers in North America while working closely with Astute’s U.S. consulting team., * Administer, maintain, and support Oracle databases supporting enterprise applications including Banner, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Oracle E-Business Suite, and custom Oracle applications.

• Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle Database 12c, 18c, 19c, and newer versions.
• Apply Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPU), Release Updates (RU), and security patches.
• Perform Oracle database backup, recovery, cloning, refreshes, and migrations using RMAN and Data Pump.
• Monitor database health, tablespaces, storage utilization, growth, performance, and capacity planning.
• Analyze and tune SQL performance, optimizer statistics, execution plans, and database parameters.
• Configure and administer Oracle Data Guard, RAC, ASM, and High Availability environments.
• Maintain database security, user management, encryption, auditing, and compliance standards.
• Troubleshoot production database issues and provide timely resolution for critical P1 incidents.
• Work directly with Oracle Support to resolve database defects and technical issues.
• Perform database upgrades, migrations, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) deployments.
• Develop and maintain shell scripts and automation for database administration activities.
• Collaborate with application, middleware, infrastructure, and cloud teams during implementation and support activities.
• Participate in scheduled maintenance, weekend deployments, and on-call support when required.
• Prepare technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge transfer documents.

• 10+ years of hands-on Oracle Database Administration experience.
• Strong experience with Oracle Database 12c, 18c, and 19c.
• Expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL knowledge with experience in SQL tuning and performance optimization.
• Experience administering Oracle databases on Linux/UNIX platforms.
• Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and database security best practices.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) database deployments is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with enterprise ERP applications such as Banner, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, or Oracle E-Business Suite is highly desirable.
• Experience working with Oracle Support on production issues.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while supporting multiple customer environments.

Preferred Skills

• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Certification.
• Experience with Exadata environments.
• Shell scripting (Bash/Korn Shell).
• Knowledge of automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
• Experience supporting customers in North America.
• ITIL or Managed Services experience is a plus.
