Maintain and update Medtronic’’s StruxureWare Data Centre Operations Information Management system, and supporting documentation.
-
Prepare and deliver reports on Data Centre utilisation statistics.
-
Conduct data centre surveys of electrical systems, and lead improvements.
-
Create and maintain accurate and credible records of maintenance, changes, problems, methods-of-procedures (MOPs) and resolutions.
-
Work directly with Woodbury facilities and be the key IT contact for the site
-
Manage Projects and locations in the Mid-West area and MSP activities
Projects
-
Coordinate large multi-site infrastructure rollouts globally, SAP/HAHA, Datacentre Core Refreshs.
-
Gather, create, drill and document DR scenarios for the Woodbury Datacentre.
-
Manage internal projects as assigned.
-
Support external Project implementations thru attending meetings and insuring deliverables and tasks assigned are completed and providing project status updated to the team.
A Day in the Life

Use a combination of product management and application knowledge to guide customers through successful implementations.
-
Networking background would be useful given ACI and Juniper rollouts
-
Vendor Management: Effectively communicate with customers via email, phone, and other electronic methods to ensure client’’s effective use of products.

Site Support - Align with Site IT support - Support site teams in closet clean-up, switch port optimization, and survey work as needed. Communicate and set standards clearly with our connectivity team.

Own and manage DC team process and procedure documentation -

Own DCIM - StruxureWare Data Centre Operations Information Management, DCO / DCE
-
Co-Ordinate repairs, corrective maintenance, and routine installations with site teams.
-
Ensure server and application compliance with security and performance requirements.
-
Provide input into training material for seminars, practical and online training.
-
Providing IT support to staff and customers, as well as respond to the server and network issues.
-
Communicate, work with, and support our Corporate Facilities team and Vendors for onsite datacentre facilities.
-
Communicate, work with, and support our Co-Location vendors that host offsite datacentre facilities.
Requirements
Must Have: Minimum Requirements for DC Engineer jobs.
-
Working in and with a globally dispersed team.
-
Experience with a large multi-national Datacentre environment, with both On-Prem and Co-Located Datacentres.
-
Strong leadership, self-management, time management, and problem-solving skills.
-
Requires careful attention to detail.
-
Bachelor’’s Degree in engineering / computer science or significant industry experience.
-
ServiceNow and change control experience
-
You should have 4 years of relevant experience.
Nice to Have
-
A degree in computer science or related field - or significant Industry experience
-
Experience in testing and validation of infrastructure builds for regulated environments.
-
Experience is preparation and presentation for Audits.
-
Experience in a very large Corporate environment dealing with hundreds of sites.
-
Experience with racking and hardware installation would be an advantage. DELL, HPE, Cisco, APC and Veritas Equipment and Maintenance/Support Experience
-
Experience working in a medical regulated environment considered a plus
-
Excellent documentation and presentation preparation skills
