Job description

Location- St. Louis, MO- Onsite Daily

Tucker Ellis LLP is seeking a dedicated Support Technician to join our IT team. This role is essential in providing top-tier technical support for our employees and guests, addressing software, hardware, printer, and audio-video conferencing needs. The Support Technician’s primary job function is providing technical software, hardware, telephone, printer and audio-video conferencing problem resolutions to firm employees and guests. This role participates in a rotating on-call schedule that involves after-hours and weekend support.

The position requires in-person attendance five days a week in the St. Louis, Missouri office. The candidate will be the sole IT support person on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance.
  • Diagnose and resolve computer, application, and basic network technical issues.
  • Providing in-person and remote support
  • Provide desktop and laptop hardware support.
  • Troubleshoot and repair troublesome Microsoft Word documents.
  • Assist with desktop videoconferencing systems tools like Zoom and Teams.
  • Troubleshoot VPN and Internet connectivity issues.
  • Use imaging tools to build and rebuild computers for distribution.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Advanced technical education is a plus but not a requirement
  • The candidate must work independently and as a member of a team servicing a wide variety of customers, both internal and external to the firm.
  • Excellent communication skills and patience working with users.
  • Ability to record, track, correspond, and document resolution of user problems.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and the Microsoft Office 365
  • Three (3) years of experience in application support and troubleshooting, preferably in a law firm or law department environment, but will look at other corporate settings.
  • The candidate must pass a background check

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

Work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Physical effort is required. Specifically, tasks such as moving computers, connecting computer cables and lifting computer related equipment.
