Job description
Job Description: Seeking an experienced Scrum Master/Project Manager to drive on-time, value-driven delivery across agile teams. You’ll lead sprint ceremonies, manage backlogs, and shield teams from distractions while partnering with Product Owners and stakeholders to align on value, scope, and risk. You’ll coach teams in Agile best practices, track progress with metrics, and support continuous improvement in a SAFe-enabled environment. Must be able to work onsite up to 3 days/week., * Lead Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Retrospectives, Demos, Backlog Refinement, Release Planning) and ensure consistent delivery through the full project lifecycle.
- Manage project plans, release plans, resource allocation, risks, scope, schedule, and delivery of value.
- Track and report on velocity, progress, schedule, budget, and risk; communicate clearly with teams and stakeholders.
- Remove impediments, protect the team from interruptions, and foster a healthy working relationship between the team and product owner.
- Support Product Owner with backlog creation and prioritization; ensure adherence to core Agile principles.
- Guide teams in Scrum and Kanban practices; promote continuous improvement and productivity.
- Align with PM methodologies and project governance; leverage MS Project or PSSE for planning and tracking.
Requirements
- PMI PMP certification (required)
- CSM (Certified Scrum Master) certification (required)
- Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies (5+ years in Scrum/Kanban)
- Experience with SAFe framework (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal, mentoring, coaching, collaboration, and team-building skills
- Ability to analyze and document business and system processes
- Onsite capability in Richmond, VA area (local candidates preferred)
