Job description

We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Full Stack Developer / Technical Lead capable of building the entire platform from scratch and taking ownership of architecture, implementation, deployment, and scaling.

This is not a maintenance role. We’re looking for someone who enjoys creating products from zero and making key technical decisions.

The Opportunity

You will architect, build, deploy and maintain the complete Urgencee platform.

You’ll work directly with the founder to transform detailed specifications into a secure, scalable production system.

You’ll have significant autonomy and influence over technical decisions while adhering to the agreed technology stack.

Core Responsibilities

Design and build a production-ready healthcare platform from scratch.

Develop a fast, responsive web application inspired by the simplicity and speed of Uber’s booking experience.

Implement real-time appointment search and booking.

Build a secure Family Health Passport.

Develop provider, patient and administrator dashboards.

Integrate authentication providers.

Implement AI-powered search and chatbot functionality.

Build secure APIs.

Create scalable cloud infrastructure.

Deploy automated CI/CD pipelines.

Monitor performance and security.

Optimise costs while maintaining enterprise-grade reliability.

Essential Technical SkillsFrontend

Expert knowledge of:

  • Next.js

Requirements

  • Progressive Web Apps (PWA)

Database

Strong PostgreSQL experience.

Able to design:

  • Large relational schemas
  • Optimised indexes
  • Partitioning strategies
  • Transactions
  • Stored procedures where appropriate
  • High-performance queries

Experience with:

  • Firestore
  • Redis (desirable)

Google Cloud Platform (Essential)

The successful candidate should have hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating applications using:

  • Google Cloud Run for frontend and backend services
  • Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL) as the primary relational database
  • Firestore for real-time appointment availability, chat, and live notifications
  • Firebase Authentication with Google, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, email/password, and magic links
  • Cloud Pub/Sub to handle booking events, notifications, and asynchronous processing, * Google Cloud Platform: 1 year (required)
  • Firebase database: 1 year (required)
  • PostgreSQL: 1 year (required)
