Job description
NextgenID is hiring a Client Solutions Engineer II to serve as the primary field resource for deploying, maintaining, and supporting our biometric identity kiosk platform across federal and enterprise client sites. This is a hands-on technical role - you will be responsible for the physical deployment, configuration, operational readiness, and ongoing maintenance of identity verification kiosks in production environments. You will report to the Client Solutions Team Lead and work closely with engineering, operations, and account management to ensure every deployment meets NextgenID’s standards for reliability, compliance, and client satisfaction.
We are not looking for someone who wants to sit behind a desk. This role requires someone who can show up at a client site, commission a kiosk, troubleshoot hardware and software integration issues in real time, and leave the client confident that the system works. You will be the face of NextgenID at the point of delivery.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Execute end-to-end deployment of biometric identity kiosks at federal and enterprise client sites - from site survey and pre-staging through installation, configuration, and acceptance testing
- Perform scheduled and emergency on-site maintenance, break/fix, and hardware replacement to meet SLA commitments across the deployed kiosk fleet
- Configure and validate kiosk software, biometric capture modules, network connectivity, and integration with client IAM/ICAM systems
- Conduct site readiness assessments including power, network, physical security, and environmental requirements prior to deployment
- Serve as the on-site technical point of contact during deployment windows, coordinating with client IT, facilities, and security teams
- Document deployment configurations, maintenance activities, and incident reports in the ticketing system with zero tolerance for incomplete records
- Escalate complex software or integration issues to engineering with clear diagnostic data and reproduction steps
- Support client training on kiosk operation, basic troubleshooting, and identity enrollment workflows
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE ALREADY DONE
- Deployed, maintained, or supported hardware systems in a client-facing production environment - not just lab or staging work
- Troubleshot hardware and software integration issues on-site under time pressure, with the client watching
- Worked with network infrastructure: TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, VPN configurations in enterprise or government environments
- Configured and supported Windows and/or Linux-based systems in a field deployment context
- Maintained accurate service records, asset tracking, and incident documentation without being chased
- Communicated technical status and next steps to non-technical client stakeholders clearly and professionally
Requirements
- Independently completed at least three kiosk deployments from pre-staging through client acceptance with zero rework
- Demonstrated proficiency with NextgenID’s kiosk platform, biometric capture modules, and deployment tooling
- Established working relationships with key client site contacts at two or more active accounts
- Maintained 100% documentation compliance on all deployment and maintenance activities
- Completed internal certification on NextgenID’s identity verification platform and field service procedures
