Job description

As a Junior Design Engineer, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and project managers on a variety of land development projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build technical expertise while gaining hands-on project experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with the planning and design of residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use land development projects.
  • Prepare engineering plans, grading plans, utility layouts, stormwater management designs, and construction details under the guidance of licensed Professional Engineers.
  • Develop and modify engineering drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
  • Research municipal ordinances, zoning regulations, and applicable local and state design standards.
  • Compile project data, mapping, and site information to support project planning and design.
  • Participate in site visits, field investigations, and project meetings.
  • Assist with permit applications, technical reports, calculations, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with project managers and multidisciplinary design teams to help deliver high-quality projects on schedule.
  • Support the preparation and review of site plan and subdivision applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience (internships and co-op experience are encouraged).
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and develop professionally.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
