Requirements

Camel Quarkus Development (Mandatory):

  • Hands-on experience building integration routes using Apache Camel, preferably Camel Quarkus, with strong knowledge of Java or YAML DSL and common Enterprise Integration Patterns such as routing, aggregation, idempotency, retries, and dead-letter handling.

Quarkus Runtime Knowledge (Mandatory):

  • Strong understanding of Quarkus fundamentals including CDI, configuration, health checks, metrics, dev mode, and troubleshooting build-time versus runtime behavior.

Kafka Integration Design (Mandatory):

  • Ability to design Kafka-based integration flows, including topic design, consumer groups, partitioning strategy, schema management, retries, dead-letter topics, and poison-message handling. Strimzi experience is a plus.

Kubernetes-Native Deployment (Mandatory):

  • Experience deploying services to Kubernetes with Config Maps, Secrets, probes, Helm or Kustomize, and designing stateless services that can scale horizontally.

Temporal Workflow Authoring (Nice to have):

  • Experience with Temporal.io or similar workflow orchestration tools. Ability to build workflows, activities, retry policies, compensation logic, and long-running orchestration patterns using Java.

Integration Domain Experience (Mandatory):

  • Prior experience with enterprise integrations across supply chain, inventory, ERP, Oracle, SAP, or similar systems. Strong understanding of correlation IDs, idempotent receivers, stored procedures, batch processing, and distributed transaction patterns.

Observability and Production Troubleshooting (Nice to Have):

  • Ability to instrument and troubleshoot integration flows using logs, metrics, traces, and dashboards. Experience with Open Telemetry, Micrometer, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Loki, or ELK is preferred.

Testing and CI/CD (Mandatory):

  • Experience writing integration tests using Quarkus/Camel test frameworks, Test containers, Kafka test setups, and workflow test frameworks. Comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, container builds, and automated deployments.

Collaboration with Platform Engineering (Nice to Have):

  • Ability to work closely with platform, infrastructure, and application teams to define reusable route patterns, deployment templates, operational standards, and POC success criteria.
