Job description
Summit Technologies is seeking a Mission Planning System Support Representative (SSR) to support U.S. Air Force mission planning activities at Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina.
The SSR is responsible for ensuring that mission planning computers, peripheral equipment, software applications, and digital map data are properly maintained, updated, and fully operational. This position supports mission planning activities for daily operations, training exercises, deployments, and real-world contingency operations.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will maintain the Mission Planning IT environment and provide technical support for mission planning systems. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve hardware, software, and system issues while managing communications, documentation, testing, and follow-through until issues are fully resolved.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Maintain mission planning computer systems and associated hardware.
- Install, configure, update, and troubleshoot mission planning software and applications.
- Ensure mission planning map data and databases are current and accurate.
- Support mission planning activities for training exercises, deployments, and operational missions.
- Document system issues, corrective actions, and technical solutions.
- Coordinate with government personnel and technical support teams to resolve system issues.
- Optimize mission planning data and system performance.
- Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and leadership at all organizational levels.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must possess an active Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or four (4) years of relevant IT experience.
- Must obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within six (6) months of hire to meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving hardware, software, operating systems, and network connectivity.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while supporting mission-critical operations in a fast-paced environment.
