Job description

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused IT Support Engineer to join our team in Birmingham. What You’ll Do

  • Provide first-line and second-line technical support to employees and end users.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, printer, and peripheral issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and other IT equipment.
  • Respond to support requests through phone, email, ticketing systems, and in person.
  • Escalate complex technical issues when necessary while ensuring timely resolution.
  • Set up user accounts, passwords, and system access permissions.
  • Assist with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, email, and business applications.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, requests, and technical solutions.
  • Support routine system maintenance, software updates, and equipment deployment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve IT services and user experience.
  • Follow IT security policies and contribute to maintaining a secure technology environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in IT support, help desk, technical support, customer service, or a related role is beneficial but not essential.
  • Good understanding of computer hardware, software, and basic networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and common business applications is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple support requests.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and develop technical skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Relevant IT qualifications or certifications are beneficial but not required.
