Job description

The New Ship Application Support Engineer I is responsible for supporting the IT Product Manager in the new ship build of Mercy Ships’ core applications. This position is a remote and full time, two-year limited term position and requires domestic and international travel Annual compensation range is $60,000-$75,000 **Compensation range listed is for U.S. hires only. Actual compensation may vary dependent upon location of hire.

How You’ll Contribute: Core

  • Perform all tasks assigned in the installation, configuration, and set up of applications for the New Ship.
  • Assist in training users at roll out / end of Equipping for the new ship.
  • Work independently with members of the user community to define and document requirements for the installation, implementation, and day-to-day operations of the applications.
  • Write and maintain documentation including configurations, specifications, and designs for new and existing applications.
  • Ensure product direction is aligned with Mercy Ships’ desired enterprise architecture.
  • Maintains alignment and upholds Mercy Ships Core Values, Code of Conduct, and follows the policies and procedures published on Compass.
  • Follows the model of Jesus and aligns with our core values by Loving God; Loving and Serving Others; Being a Person of Integrity; and a Person of Excellence in all you say and do.
  • Collaborate with project management functions in the execution of the new ship build.
  • Provide status reports as requested.

  • Act as a team player, using principles from Crucial Conversations to ensure strong and open working relationships.
  • Protect information assets controlled within the IT systems, applications or infrastructure, as defined in Mercy Ships policies and procedures

  • A minimum of one year of relevant work experience, including experience in product or software administration.
  • Experience in the specific product or another relevant technology platform is preferred.
  • Must be able to travel internationally with current passport
  • All visitors to a vessel in field service are required to be up to date and compliant with current approved medical requirements. Or equivalent combination of experience and education.
