Job description

  • Custom WordPress/WooCommerce plugin development and storefront functionality on a live, high-volume store
  • Custom Laravel application development (PHP 8.4, Filament admin panels, MySQL/PostgreSQL, Redis queues) - the apps behind rewards, claims, and analytics
  • Building, maintaining, and debugging API integrations (payment gateways, shipping/fulfillment, email/marketing, and internal service-to-service webhooks)
  • Server-side operations on Laravel Forge / Vultr / DigitalOcean - deploys, queue workers, environment config, performance tuning
  • Site performance and caching (LiteSpeed, Cloudflare, Redis) as we add features
  • Cloudflare configuration - WAF rules, security posture, and understanding the difference between human and machine traffic
  • Observability and reliability - monitoring, alerting, and writing code that fails safely when a dependency is down
  • Git-based workflow - feature branches, pull requests, code review, staging-before-production discipline
  • Testing and QA across staging and production, * Responsive and present in async channels. We coordinate, review, and handle incidents in Slack. Going dark is the one thing that doesn’t work here.
  • Proactive updates. You tell us what you’re working on and flag blockers early, without being chased.
  • Ownership under pressure. When production has a problem, you’re reachable and you drive it - clear communication during an incident matters as much as the fix.
  • Judgment about risk. You understand that this is live code touching real customer money, and you treat deploys, data migrations, and security accordingly.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, able to prioritize and multitask against deadlines.

Requirements

We run a high-traffic WooCommerce store backed by a growing suite of custom Laravel applications - a rewards engine, a shipping-protection claims platform, and an analytics layer - plus the WordPress plugins and theme that power the storefront. This is not a maintenance-only WordPress job. It is a full-stack role for someone who is equally comfortable in a WordPress plugin and a Laravel service, who understands how a live ecommerce system behaves under real traffic, and who communicates clearly in a fast, async, remote team.

If you are passionate about building and maintaining production ecommerce systems end to end - and you take real ownership of what you ship - this is for you. If your experience is front-end theming or WordPress in isolation, it is not., * 7+ years professional experience across PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and jQuery

  • Deep WooCommerce and WordPress expertise - plugin architecture, hooks, the REST/Store API, and how WooCommerce behaves at scale
  • Strong Laravel experience - you can build and own a Laravel application, not just patch one
  • Proficient with Git and a PR-based team workflow; able to show a GitHub profile or equivalent history
  • Comfortable on the command line / SSH; able to manage a Linux server and run shell operations safely
  • Experience building and maintaining API integrations and webhooks
  • A portfolio of plugins or applications you have built and maintained over time (not just shipped once), * Experience with Cloudflare (WAF, rules, security), Redis, and queue-based background processing
  • Filament, or similar admin-panel frameworks
  • Experience on a team preparing systems for due diligence / acquisition
  • Ability to lead, establish process, and mentor - we value people who improve how the team works, not just the code, * High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree a plus
  • 7+ years in the required languages; demonstrated senior-level WordPress/WooCommerce and Laravel work
  • Previous experience working within a team of developers using a formal Git workflow
