Job description

Apply systems engineering principles to plan, develop, integrate, verify, and support complex aircraft system solutions throughout the product lifecycle. Analyze technical requirements, coordinate cross-functional activities, and resolve engineering issues while supporting the B-52 Commercial Engine Replacement Program. Develop planning processes, manage technical risks, and optimize system performance to ensure mission success., * Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify system-of-systems solutions

  • Evaluate customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements
  • Integrate technical parameters while ensuring compatibility across physical, functional, and program interfaces
  • Perform analyses to optimize system architecture, affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, and system security
  • Develop requirements management, risk management, issue management, opportunity management, and technology readiness assessment processes
  • Resolve cross-functional technical issues supporting engineering objectives
  • Support the B-52 Commercial Engine Replacement Program by integrating modern engine technology into legacy aircraft architecture
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to develop technical plans addressing program challenges

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and typically 5+ years of experience in an engineering classification, or a Master’s degree and typically 3+ years of experience in an engineering classification, or a PhD with experience in an engineering classification
  • 5+ years of experience with Aircraft Systems and Systems Engineering
  • Demonstrate knowledge of systems engineering processes
  • Apply general knowledge of aircraft systems
  • Provide organization to technical issues and engineering activities
  • Develop planning tasks and execution plans
  • Exhibit strong communication skills to support cross-functional planning
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

  • Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Aircraft Systems Troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Aircraft Systems/Software
