Job description

As a Principal Product Engineer at MiniMed Juncos, you will play a key role in improving manufacturing processes, equipment performance, and product quality within a medical device production environment. Leveraging your technical expertise and project leadership skills, you’ll partner across functions to solve complex manufacturing challenges, implement sustainable improvements, and support efficient, reliable production.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties as assigned:

  • Responsible for production support engineering related to testing methods, procedures, and troubleshooting.

  • Investigates device specification and yield issues and supports minor redesigns of devices and masks.

  • Analyzes customer returns and implements supplier-related engineering changes.

  • Optimizes device production while balancing quality and cost constraints.

  • Improves manufacturing processes and equipment performance.

  • Assumes responsibility for devices and/or internally produced or externally purchased components after transfer into high-volume production.

  • Supports overall device manufacturing operations, excluding wafer fabrication.

  • May assist customers with device usage issues or customer testing of complex devices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Validation experience, including process validation and computerized systems validation.

  • Experience in a medical device manufacturing environment.

  • Fully bilingual in Spanish and English.

Nice to Have: Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing major or moderately complex projects.

  • Green Belt certification.

  • Equipment troubleshooting expertise.

  • Knowledge of process controls (software, electrical, and mechanical).

  • Knowledge of statistical techniques.

Core Technical Requirements: Technical expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Assembly processes

  • Pneumatics

  • Laser and ultrasonic joining

  • Automation processes

  • Sensors and controls

  • Robotics and servo systems

  • Sealing and packaging

  • Bonding processes (e.g., adhesive application)
