Job description

As the Information Technology Support Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues. Your primary responsibility will be to provide prompt and effective support to ensure the smooth operation of our company’s IT systems. This entails all hardware and software used on campus as well as remotely. This may include, but not limited to, laptops, desktops, phones, printers, projectors, wireless devices, switches, servers. You will be motivated and instill customer-oriented-service while maintaining business continuity. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in IT support and develop their skills in a dynamic environment., * Provide first-level technical support to employees via phone, email, or in-person, addressing issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues, guiding users through step-by-step solutions. Escalate more complex problems to higher-level IT staff as needed.
  • Log all support requests in the helpdesk ticketing system, ensuring accurate documentation of issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
  • Assist with the creation, modification, and deletion of user accounts, passwords, and access permissions in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor and respond to alerts from various IT systems, ensuring that potential issues are addressed promptly.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by providing excellent service, clear communication, and timely follow-up on issues.
  • Assist in creating and updating user guides, FAQs, and technical documentation.
  • Provide basic training to employees on the use of IT resources.
  • Identify opportunities to improve helpdesk processes and suggest changes to enhance service delivery.
  • Provide any additional support as required or needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to install and administer any computer hardware, software and networks.
  • Analytical and problem-solving, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Customer-centric attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations with patience and empathy, * High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • An associate’s degree in information technology and/or technology certification(s) a plus.
  • Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 40 pounds.
  • Experience in a CSR or technical support role a plus, but not required. On-the-job training to be provided.
  • Experience in Linux® & Microsoft Windows® operating systems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting LAN a plus.
  • Experience in network switches, routers, and firewall appliances; network security a plus., * 1. What is your level of proficiency with hardware and hardware troubleshooting?
    1. What is your level of expertise with Office 365 & SharePoint?
    1. Do you have experience with building apps with Flows, PowerAutomate, and/or PowerBI?
