Job description
- Provide remote technical support to customers and field technicians via phone and email.
- Diagnose equipment issues and guide technicians through repairs using wiring diagrams, service manuals, and technical documentation.
- Review installations to help ensure compliance with applicable residential elevator codes and standards.
- Prepare parts recommendations and pricing while coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.
- Support modernization efforts for existing elevator systems by identifying compatible upgrades and replacement components.
- Assist with onboarding and technical training for installation and service personnel.
- Accurately document service cases, monitor performance metrics, and maintain detailed records within company systems.
- Build positive relationships with customers by delivering timely, professional, and solution-focused support.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, elevator, or similar technical trades.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities with a customer-focused approach.
- Comfortable working with computers, CRM platforms, and service management software.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- No college degree is required; practical, hands-on technical experience is highly valued.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience within the elevator industry.
- Familiarity with residential elevator codes and installation requirements.
- Experience supporting or training field technicians.
- Knowledge of modernization projects involving legacy equipment.
- Experience with PLC controls.
- Familiarity with Mitsubishi and Siemens automation products.
- Technical certifications such as CET, PMP, or equivalent are a plus.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with a consistent weekday schedule.
- Occasional travel to customer or job sites as needed.
- Frequent computer and telephone use throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely lift or move materials weighing up to 75 pounds when required.
