Role summary: The (USA) Principal, Product Manager leads product strategy across a broad portfolio, driving organization-wide decisions through deep expertise and data-driven insights. This role owns complex customer challenges and product requirements, shaping long-term vision and multi-product roadmaps. The position influences senior stakeholders by delivering strategic narratives grounded in market and user insights, while promoting best practices in product management. It fosters cross-functional collaboration to ensure scalable solutions, guides product lifecycle execution, and advances innovation through emerging technologies and analytics to maximize business impact and customer value. About the team: The AI Shopping team is committed to enhancing how millions of customers discover, decide, and purchase products at Walmart. By developing intelligent shopping experiences across digital and physical channels, the team enables efficient mission completion. Focused on innovation and advanced technologies, members collaborate to create data-driven product strategies and roadmaps aligned with customer needs and business goals. The team drives impactful solutions in a dynamic retail environment, ensuring Walmart remains a trusted and helpful shopping companion through continuous improvement and strategic product leadership. What you’ll do:
- Shape and drive product strategy across multiple related products, leveraging deep domain expertise and data-driven insights.
- Define and manage comprehensive product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical feasibility.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to address complex customer problems and prioritize impactful solutions.
- Establish scalable mechanisms for gathering and interpreting customer feedback and product usage data.
- Guide teams in setting success metrics and validating product outcomes through rigorous analysis.
- Influence enterprise prioritization and strategic decisions through compelling data-backed narratives.
- Mentor product managers and promote best practices to elevate product management discipline.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in product strategy development and execution across multiple related products or large portfolios.
- Strong ability to build and manage comprehensive product roadmaps aligned with business and technical priorities.
- Demonstrated skill in stakeholder management, influencing cross-functional teams and senior leadership through data-driven insights.
- Experience leveraging advanced analytics and experimentation to inform product decisions and optimize outcomes.
- Deep understanding of customer needs using design thinking, journey mapping, and feedback mechanisms.
- Ability to lead complex product lifecycle processes, including MVP rollout and long-term evolution.

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 9 years’ experience in product management. Option 2: 11 years’ experience in product management or related area.

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area and 8 years’ experience as a product manager, ideally working on consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B/C products, Supervisory experience, We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
