Job description

We are seeking a MAS Technical Lead to serve as the senior technical authority on a Department of Defense enterprise asset management modernization program. This role supports a U.S. Government customer and is fully remote within the continental United States.

The program migrates a large IBM Maximo 7.6 environment to Maximo Application Suite 9.1 on a government cloud platform, preserving accountable inventory, asset, property, and depot maintenance capability across two installations. This is a hands-on lead role. You will own the technical direction of the solution and you will build alongside the team.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will hold architectural authority for the migrated solution, lead the functional design that determines what gets preserved and how, and represent cb5 technically in front of the Government customer.

  • Lead discovery of an undocumented Maximo 7.6 customization estate, including a structured subject matter expert elicitation program by module across asset management, inventory, property accountability, work management, and software license agreement tracking.

  • Produce the functional behavior specification from direct observation of the running system, furnished materials, and SME sessions where as-built documentation does not exist.

  • Develop and maintain the Functional Equivalency Matrix, the contract artifact that records every legacy capability, its target implementation, its validation method, and its acceptance criterion.

  • Maintain a residual register of functionality not achievable through supported configuration, with disposition options presented for Government decision.

  • Lead conference room pilot playback sessions with Government users at the close of each major build increment and drive the resulting rework into the following increment.

  • Provide technical oversight of user acceptance testing and lead defect triage through the acceptance window.

  • Author requirements products for a follow-on phase, including financial audit readiness requirements, supply system integration assessment and interface requirements, logistics reporting requirements, business process analysis, an interface control framework, and an implementation roadmap with cost estimate.

  • Serve as architectural authority through the ninety-day hypercare period following production go-live. Design and guide modernization of unsupported customizations into supported methods, including automation scripts, the Maximo Integration Framework, domains, Application Designer, and database configuration.

Work directly with Government stakeholders and the prime contractor and hold the technical narrative in front of both.

Requirements

Must have 8, or more, years of directly related experience with IBM Maximo, including hands-on configuration and development.

  • Must have led at least one Maximo implementation, upgrade, or migration through design, build, and deployment.

  • Must have experience with Maximo Application Suite, or demonstrated depth in Maximo 7.6 with a working understanding of the MAS architecture and migration path.

  • Must be proficient with Maximo configuration and development methods including Application Designer, automation scripts, the Maximo Integration Framework using object structures and enterprise services, domains, workflow, escalations, and database configuration.

  • Must have experience with Maximo functional areas including asset management, inventory, work management, and preventive maintenance.

  • Must have experience gathering requirements and validating designs directly with business users and customer stakeholders.

  • Must have 2, or more, years of experience in a technical leadership role guiding other developers.

  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (for example Security+).

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen residing in the continental United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Maximo reporting, including BIRT.

  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift or containerized Maximo deployments.

  • Experience on Department of Defense or federal programs with financial audit readiness or property accountability requirements.

  • Experience with logistics data standards or defense supply system interfaces.

  • IBM Maximo certification.
