IT Assistant

A mid-size education company in Austin, TX seeks an IT Assistant to help fulfill our mission to develop children and connect the Austin community. We are seeking an entry level candidate that is motivated to learn, grow professionally, and work up 40 hours per week. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include working with our IT Manager to prioritize projects and support the needs of our 20 locations. Most of the locations are in the Austin Metro Area with two in College Station.

You will gain valuable experience updating and adding software programs, deploying new hardware solutions, repairing hardware, troubleshooting IT issues, and resolving phone/voice connectivity issues. You will also manage projects that include installation of new phones, basic cabling, as well as repairing and replacing video cameras. Resolving printer and copier issues will also be the responsibility of this position.

You will be supported by our IT Manager, so previous experience in all the above area’s is preferred but not a requirement. All hardware, software and training will be provided along with any specialized tools or diagnostic equipment.

Essential Duties and Functions: Inspect, diagnose and repair defective IT equipment, especially laptop and desktop PCs, smart phones, iPads including mechanical defects such as missing keys or loose hinges. Set up new IT equipment and install. Perform data entry related to the work performed. Help research and source parts for projects. Provide our school administrators with excellent customer service.

High School diploma or GED

Preferred Experience: Prior experience in repair and set up of all types of desktops, laptops, iPads, mobile phones, regular phones, modems
