Job description

As a PRN-Teleradiology Applications Support Specialist, you play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of our teleradiology systems. You provide essential technical and application support on an as-needed basis, directly impacting our ability to deliver timely and accurate diagnostic imaging services. This position supports our radiologists and clinical staff, maintaining the stability and efficiency of the applications they rely on daily. Your expertise directly contributes to patient care by keeping our diagnostic workflows running smoothly., * Provides expert application support for teleradiology platforms, PACS, and RIS, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.

  • Diagnoses and resolves complex technical issues through effective troubleshooting for various radiology applications.
  • Supports and optimizes teleradiology workflow processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Offers timely and effective technical support to end-users, addressing inquiries and resolving system-related problems.
  • Performs system configuration and maintenance for radiology information systems, ensuring data integrity and system security.
  • Conducts user training sessions for new and existing staff on application functionalities and best practices.
  • Collaborates with IT teams and vendors to escalate and resolve advanced technical challenges.
  • Maintains detailed documentation of support activities, resolutions, and system configurations.
  • Ensures compliance with industry standards such as DICOM and HL7 in all system interactions and data exchanges.
  • Monitors system performance and proactively identifies potential issues before they impact operations.

Requirements

  • Possesses an Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
  • Holds equivalent experience in lieu of a degree., * Demonstrates 2+ years of experience in application support within a healthcare or radiology environment.
  • Has proven experience with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and Radiology Information Systems (RIS).
  • Possesses prior experience supporting teleradiology workflow or remote diagnostic imaging., * Exhibits strong knowledge of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) functionality and administration.
  • Understands Radiology Information Systems (RIS) operations and integration.
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of DICOM standards for image management and communication.
  • Possesses working knowledge of HL7 standards for healthcare data exchange.
  • Excels in providing application support and user assistance.
  • Demonstrates superior troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understands and optimizes teleradiology workflow processes.
  • Provides effective technical support with a customer-focused approach.
  • Proficiently performs system configuration and maintenance tasks.
  • Conducts effective user training for diverse audiences.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Works independently and manages time effectively in a PRN capacity., * Holds a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Possesses industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation).
  • Has experience with specific teleradiology platforms or vendor systems., * Works primarily in a remote or office environment.
  • Requires the ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Uses a computer and telephone extensively.
  • May require occasional on-call availability to support critical systems.
  • Possesses reliable internet access for remote work.
