Job description
Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Direct Technical Controller to join their Glasgow team, supporting a major facilities management contract.
The Role
The Direct Technical Controller will be responsible for the effective day-to-day planning and scheduling of engineers’ routes and workloads across reactive and planned maintenance contracts.
The role will involve liaising with customers, engineers, internal service teams, suppliers and subcontractors, while acting as a central point of contact between all parties.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan and manage the daily workloads of engineering teams across the UK and Northern Ireland.
· Schedule new and outstanding works using a bespoke CAFM system.
· Work to agreed attendance, completion, SLA and KPI targets.
· Manage outstanding parts and minimise equipment downtime.
· Monitor refrigeration equipment remotely and identify faults or false alarms.
· Triage alarms to support scheduling and reduce unnecessary engineer visits.
· Provide support to refrigeration engineers and service desk teams.
· Analyse reports and help reduce outstanding work-order volumes.
· Handle calls, monitor shared mailboxes and complete general administration.
Requirements
· Previous experience in administration, planning, scheduling or a similar office-based role.
· Strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.
· Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
· The ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities.
· An understanding of facilities management or a willingness to learn.
· Previous CAFM, retail FM or refrigeration experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
