Job description
This position will be an advanced IT tech who will be in charge of:
- Network installations/Tech release - under the supervision of the CEO and Operations Manager
- Break Fix - under the supervision of the CEO and Operations Manager
- Assist with staging configurations- under the supervision of the Operations Manager
- Support of the Firewall Validations and contract consultations under the supervision of the CEO
This position will be primarily remote with flexibility when appropriate. Up to 20% travel required for training and installation oversight. This position will report directly to the Operations Manager and CEO with tasks assigned from others on an as needed basis.
Necessary Skills:
Working with limited supervision this position will provide primary lead and advanced technical design and support for network installations, break/fix and general IT support. Manage and triage issues and escalate as necessary. Must be able to work with a diverse customer base with varying levels of technical knowledge with a customer first point of view.
Must have advanced knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- LAN/WAN
- Network Administration
- Network Firewalls
- Network Infrastructure
- IP Based Network Design and Optimization
- Firewall Configurations and Troubleshooting
- IP Subnets and Routing include routing protocols and ports
- VLAN tagging and configurations
- DNS
- Configuration and Troubleshooting of Commercial Routers, Switches and Access Points
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in WAN?, * Excellent work ethic
- Strong problem solving skills
- Highest standard of customer service
- Must be reachable for on-call emergencies unless delegated to another staff member (this includes weekends, evenings and holidays)
- Weekend and evening availability, as needed
- Up to 20% travel required
- 2-5 years network support experience
- Reliable transportation
- Home internet
- Drivers license
- Pass a background and drug test.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with a variety of people ranging from customers to other staff members, * CCNA Certification or equivalent experience
- CompTIA Network+ or equivalent experience
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent experience
- CISSP Certification or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with Monday.com
- Familiarity with Kaseya and Splunk
- Working knowledge of dashboard and system management tools
- Working knowledge of network management tools, * Have you worked with Kaseya and/or Splunk?
- Do you have more than 2 years of practical on hands experience with assessing, planning, configuring and troubleshooting (PCAP, Wireshark, etc) L3 firewall rules on commercial routers? Please describe.
- Do you have more than 2 years of practical on hands experience with assessing, planning, configuration and troubleshooting VLAN tagged networks including programing VLAN’s on commercial routers and switches? Please describe.
Experience:
- Network support: 5 years (Preferred)
