Job description
Serves as the first point of contact for military-connected students at the CGC Veterans Services Office. Provides customer service and answers first-level questions regarding VA education benefits, certification processes, eligibility, and required documentation. Assists students throughout the admissions, registration, enrollment, and certification processes, ensuring they receive accurate guidance and support. Helps maintain student records, directs students to appropriate college resources, and supports compliance with certification procedures. Participates in and assists with various veteran-focused events, outreach activities, workshops, and programs designed to support the success and engagement of veteran students. Demonstrates strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills while creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all students., 25% Provide excellent front desk customer service. Serve as the first point of contact for military-connected students. Answer questions regarding VA education benefits, certification requirements, eligibility, and office procedures while referring complex issues to Veterans Services staff, as appropriate.
20% Assist students with admissions, registration, and enrollment processes. Guide students through admissions, registration, course enrollment, and college procedures. Assist with navigating college systems and accessing student resources. Provide information on deadlines, requirements, and available services.
20% Assist with collecting and organizing documents related to VA certification. Review documents for completeness and route information to the appropriate staff. Maintain the confidentiality of student records and information.
15% Answer phones, respond to emails, schedule appointments, and maintain digital office records. Prepare informational materials and update resource information. Perform data entry to support student retention, completion, and graduation.
10% Assist with veteran-focused events, orientations, workshops, and outreach activities. Help set up, promote, and support special programs and initiatives for students while fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for military-connected students.

Requirements
High school diploma or GED and one year of clerical, administrative office support or related experience., 1. Experience assisting a wide range of populations, including military-affiliated students and veterans.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast-paced office environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information.
- Proficiency in office technology, databases, and electronic record systems
Special Working Conditions
Work is routinely performed in an indoor office environment., Possession of a valid Arizona Class D driver’s license is required. Applicants must meet the minimum driving standards outlined at: http://www.maricopa.edu/legal/rmi/vehicle.htm#requirements.
May be required to work at multiple sites or locations.
Work schedule varies.
May be required to work evenings and weekends.
May be required to lift or carry up to 25 pounds.
May be required to sit for prolonged periods while viewing a computer monitor.
