Job description
Insight Global is seeking a Tactical NOC Technician to support a leading defense client in Tampa, FL. This role is ideal for networking professionals with experience supporting tactical communications environments, mission operations, and Cisco-based network infrastructure.
As a member of a 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC), you will provide operational support for enterprise and tactical network environments, ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of critical communications systems. This position requires hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment, routing protocols, and troubleshooting complex network issues in support of mission-critical operations.
Responsibilities: Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network incidents across LAN, WAN, and tactical network environments Configure and support Cisco routers and switches supporting operational missions Establish, maintain, and decommission tactical communications networks in support of mission requirements Support routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP, and RIP Troubleshoot network connectivity and encryption-related issues Document incidents, outages, and network changes through established ticketing systems Perform technical analysis and root cause investigations for complex network anomalies Coordinate and communicate with external NOCs and mission partners to ensure seamless operations Maintain compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements, directives, and industry best practices Collaborate across technical teams and support cross-training initiatives Support rotating schedules and 12-hour shifts within a 24x7 operational environment
Requirements
Active Secret Security Clearance Security+ certification (or equivalent DoD 8570 baseline certification) High School Diploma or GED 5+ years of networking or NOC experience Experience operating in a tactical communications or military networking environment Hands-on experience standing up and tearing down tactical communications missions Strong experience with Cisco routers and switches Working knowledge of routing protocols, including BGP, EIGRP, and RIP Experience troubleshooting network encryption issues Ability to serve as a liaison between multiple NOCs and mission stakeholders, Military communications or tactical networking experience Experience supporting DoD or federal government network operations Advanced Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) Experience with network monitoring and ticketing tools
Benefits & conditions
Pay Rate: $32-$38/hr
Exact compensation will vary based on experience, certifications, education, and other relevant factors.
