Job description

This enables us to deliver the right temporary works solution for our customers, whatever the scale or complexity of the project. Our customers include civil engineering and construction contractors, asset owners, and consulting engineering firms through to small builders., Due to continued growth, we are currently looking for a design engineer to join our engineering team in Ashton-in-Makerfield. Reporting to a Design Team Leader, you will be responsible for producing temporary works designs for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework., * Prepare temporary works designs for groundworks and eventually other product schemes.

  • Checking designs and drawing in accordance with BS5975:2019
  • Attend client meetings and carry out site visits.
  • Review design briefs provided by the sales team through Launchpad and provide feedback if more information is required.
  • Managing your own workload§ Contribute to continuous improvement projects as agreed by the Engineering Director.

Requirements

The role would suit an engineer with a few years post graduate experience with demonstratable technical experience in structures or geotechnical design and a sound understanding of temporary works.   • At least 3 years experience designing temporary works
  • The ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Experience of designing Formwork & Falsework
  • Good understanding of CDM 2015
  • Experience utilising AutoCAD 2D and/or REVIT

We would also love it if you have:

  • Experience of checking Groundworks
  • Experience working for a supplier or in a commercial environment
  • Some experience working on site
