Design Engineer

We are working with a specialist manufacturer operating within the infrastructure sector, delivering projects across rail, utilities, water, and marine environments.

We are seeking a hands-on Design Engineer with real-world construction or manufacturing experience to produce detailed 2D and 3D engineering designs from concept through to fabrication and as-built stages.

This is a practical position requiring strong technical capability and is best suited to a Design Engineer who understands how structures and components are built, manufactured, and installed. This is not a BIM coordination or architectural modelling role.

What you’ll do

• Produce 2D/3D CAD models using AutoCAD + SolidWorks / Inventor
• Create fabrication and installation drawings for GRP/composite systems
• Support design from concept through to manufacture and installation
• Ensure designs are buildable, compliant, and technically sound
• Produce as-built / red-line drawings from site input
• Work closely with engineering, production and project teams

Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in SolidWorks?, * Experience in civil, structural, mechanical, fabrication or installation design

• Strong AutoCAD + SolidWorks or Inventor ability
• Experience producing construction or manufacturing drawings
• Understanding of structural or installation principles (loads, buildability, etc.)
• Experience on live projects (not purely academic)

• Full UK driving licence

• Desirable
• GRP / composites / steelwork experience
• Site or installation exposure
• CDM / BS EN / Building Regs knowledge
