Job description

Enclave Solutions is looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Edinburgh. You’ll play a key role in designing, building and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure while mentoring junior engineers and driving engineering best practices.

Working closely with Product, QA and DevOps teams, you’ll contribute to the technical direction of our cloud platform and help deliver high-quality, secure infrastructure that supports business growth., * Design, develop and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure.

  • Lead technical design discussions and architectural decisions.
  • Write clean, maintainable and well-tested infrastructure-as-code.
  • Review code and mentor junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and platform improvements.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and engineering best practices.
  • Champion cloud security, performance, and cost optimisation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ commercial cloud engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS or Azure (multi-cloud experience a plus).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture principles.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Relevant cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, etc.).
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus).
  • Knowledge of automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical projects.
  • Background in cost optimisation and cloud migration projects.
