Job description
The IT Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing an organization’s IT infrastructure. This role involves maintaining high availability, performance, and security of systems while supporting business operations and strategic initiatives. As a senior-level position, the engineer provides technical leadership, mentors junior staff, and drives infrastructure improvements. The IT Engineer works across servers, networks, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems to ensure reliable and scalable IT operations. The Senior IT Systems Engineer acts as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, helping translate requirements into robust technical solutions., * Designing and maintaining enterprise-wide infrastructure.
- Managing cloud environments and on-premises infrastructure.
- Leading system upgrades, migrations, and automation initiatives.
- Mentoring junior team members and providing technical leadership.
- Developing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Proven hands-on experience in Hyper-V, PVE (Proxmox) environments:
- Storage Spaces Direct (S2D)
- Azure Stack HCI, SCCM VMM
- Active Directory
- DNS/DHCP
- PowerShell
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT related fields (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, etc.), preferred 5+ years of experience in a server/system support role
- Experience in Cloud technologies (Azure/AWS), virtualization (Hyper-V and Proxmox)
- Key qualifications include expertise in Windows/Linux environment, infrastructure automation, project leadership, and relevant certifications, like MCSE or VMware VCP
- Experienced in ITIL or equivalent IT operation framework
- Experienced in IT process improvement and documentation
- Experienced in dealing with various compliance and auditing
- Experienced in Automation/Scripting
- Experienced in Networking with strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and security principles
- Experienced in infrastructure with storage systems (SAN/NAS), firewalls, and data center management
- With strong leadership, project management, analytical thinking, and effective communications skills
Benefits & conditions
$118,000 - $130,000 The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
