Job description

The Senior Epic Clinical Applications Analyst will analyze, configure, develop, test, implement, support, and maintain Epic clinical applications and related solutions to meet complex operational and technical requirements.

This role partners with clinical and operational stakeholders to translate advanced clinical workflows into effective system solutions. The successful candidate will independently lead optimization efforts, troubleshoot complex issues, and serve as an escalation resource for high-risk or highly complex clinical application concerns., * Analyze, configure, develop, test, implement, support, and maintain Epic clinical applications.

  • Perform complex Epic build and optimization activities.
  • Translate clinical and operational workflows into effective system solutions.
  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve complex clinical application issues.
  • Evaluate patient safety, regulatory, workflow, and downstream impacts of system changes.
  • Support clinical workflow redesign and system optimization.
  • Identify risks and proactively communicate potential impacts to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, operational leaders, IT teams, and other technical partners.
  • Lead clinical working sessions and facilitate meetings as needed.
  • Present complex technical and workflow information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Provide timely documentation and communication regarding system issues, changes, and resolutions.
  • Support change management and adoption of clinical application solutions.
  • Understand system interdependencies and integrations across clinical workflows.
  • Escalate issues appropriately and provide recommendations for complex or high-risk problems.
  • Serve as an escalation resource for challenging clinical application issues.
  • Support cardiology-related application initiatives and PACS upgrade activities as needed.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must be able to hit the ground running and work independently with minimal supervision. The team will not provide additional training or mentorship, so strong hands-on Epic build experience is essential., * 5-6+ years of hospital/healthcare experience supporting clinical applications.

  • 5+ years of hands-on Epic build experience with strong configuration and development knowledge.
  • Current Epic Cupid certification is required.
  • Multiple Epic certifications are highly preferred.
  • Strong experience configuring, testing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing Epic applications.
  • Ability to work independently and resolve complex application issues with minimal oversight.
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows, terminology, and healthcare operations.
  • Experience analyzing workflow and system issues and designing effective solutions.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills for documentation, analysis, and communication.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting PACS or imaging-related systems.
  • Experience with cardiology workflows or PACS upgrades is highly preferred.
  • Experience working alongside PACS teams and supporting system integrations.
  • Background in a clinical or healthcare-related field or information systems.

Education

Associate degree in one of the following areas is preferred:

  • Nursing
  • Health Information Management
  • Health Informatics
  • Information Technology
  • Computer Science
  • Business Administration
  • Healthcare Administration
  • Allied Health Professions
  • Related field

Equivalent experience may substitute for education, including 4 years of progressively responsible experience focused on clinical applications and healthcare information systems.

Certification

  • Current Epic certification in the assigned application is required.
  • Epic Cupid certification is required.
  • Multiple Epic certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Additional clinical or information systems certifications are a plus., * Advanced knowledge of Epic configuration, testing, support, and optimization.
  • Deep understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare terminology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently assess complex issues and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize competing clinical and operational demands.
  • Strong understanding of patient safety and regulatory considerations.
  • Understanding of clinical system integrations and downstream impacts.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead meetings and facilitate clinical/technical working sessions.
  • Strong professional judgment, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare IT environment.

Who We’re Looking For

This position is best suited for a senior-level Epic professional, not an entry-level analyst or project manager. The successful candidate will have significant hands-on build experience, current Epic Cupid certification, hospital experience, and the confidence to independently manage complex application work from day one.
