Job description

Selected candidates will contribute to a comprehensive suite of Design and Construction Support Services delivered on behalf of the 1st Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron (1 SOCES) at Hurlburt Field, Florida. All work products shall meet high quality standards, be submitted on schedule, and be performed on-site at Hurlburt Field. Scope of services encompasses oversight of professional services activities; studies, analyses, and technical evaluations; and the application of specialized engineering and technical knowledge. Personnel will be assigned to support either the Engineering Flight (CEN) or the Operations Flight (CEO)., ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.We are seeking skilled Infrastructure Technicians to perform hands-on repair, maintenance, and construction work in support of DoD and commercial facility systems at Hurlburt Field. This role sits within the Operations Flight (CEO) and is offered across three specialty tracks. Placement will be based on individual trade expertise and current project requirements.

Technicians will have a specialty in one or more of the following areas:

o HVAC/R: Perform repairs, maintenance, and construction activities for DoD and commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.

o Water/Wastewater: Execute repairs, upgrades, and construction tasks in support of DoD and commercial water distribution and wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure.

o Structures: Carry out repair and construction work on DoD and commercial facilities, including building envelope systems, roofing, and general structural renovation.

  • Perform skilled trades work across assigned infrastructure specialty in support of facility repair and construction projects.

  • Execute tasks within your designated track (HVAC/R, Water/Wastewater, or Structures) in accordance with applicable codes and work orders.

  • Adhere to all applicable safety standards, quality requirements, and regulatory guidelines governing trades work on federal facilities.

  • Communicate regularly with project supervisors and engineering staff to coordinate work sequencing and flag technical concerns.

  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and escalate issues that require engineering review or supervisory input.

  • Core duty hours are 0730-1630. Personnel may be required to work outside these hours as needed to meet PWS deliverable timelines.

Requirements

  • At least ten (10) years of hands-on experience as a DoD or commercial trades technician performing repair, maintenance, or construction work within your applicable specialty (HVAC/R, Water/Wastewater, or Structures).

  • No education requirements

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Skills in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment

  • Must have proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and database (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based on that data.
