Job description

Our client, a Glastonbury CT supplier of physical technology components, is seeking a motivated, self-starting, focused individual to join our IT team as an IT Asset Management Technician.

The person will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, inventorying, packaging, and shipping computer hardware and related technology equipment. This role ensures accurate asset tracking, proper handling of sensitive electronics, and timely delivery of equipment to internal departments, customers, or vendors. Additional duties include maintaining and repairing computers for redeployment., * Receive incoming shipments of computer equipment, peripherals, and technology.

  • Inspect shipments for damage, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Record and update inventory in asset management or warehouse systems.
  • Label, organize, and store equipment in designated areas.
  • Prepare computer equipment for shipment, including secure packaging and documentation.
  • Process outgoing shipments using shipping carriers such as UPS, FedEx, or USPS
  • Maintain shipping records, tracking numbers, and delivery confirmations.
  • Perform general maintenance and hardware repairs on existing computers in preparation for redeployment.
  • Perform basic equipment setup, imaging, or testing when required.
  • Coordinate with IT staff, vendors, and purchasing departments.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and secure storage and shipping areas.
  • Follow the company safety procedures and handling guidelines for electronics.
  • Assist with inventory audits and cycle counts.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. or more.

Requirements

Do you have a Associate’s degree?, Whether you’ve recently completed technical training or have 1-3 years of IT-related experience, this role will give you hands-on exposure to a wide range of IT systems while working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment., * Must have 2-3 years of IT experience.

  • An associate’s degree, technical school training, or equivalent coursework in Information Technology is not required, but is a plus.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, and Microsoft Fundamentals are not required but are a plus.

Monday- Friday 40 hour weekly schedule and benefits once on the company payroll.
