Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Joint Fires Network Engineer to support a company focused on delivering secure, mission-critical network operations for U.S. Department of Defense environments. This position is on-site at Scott AFB, IL. The Joint Fires Network Engineer will provide real-time network operations, monitoring, and restoration support within a 24x7 operations center environment. This role directly contributes to ensuring resilient communications systems that support national security missions worldwide., * Execute network operations including configuration and analysis of circuits across routers, switches, and optical transport systems

  • Perform real-time circuit rerouting and network restoration during outages or maintenance events
  • Monitor network alarms and proactively troubleshoot issues using enterprise network management tools
  • Document and manage incidents, outages, and resolutions throughout the full lifecycle of network events

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in network operations, transport networks, or IP networking (or equivalent combination of education/experience)
  • Strong experience with routers, switches, routing protocols, MPLS, optical transport, and network troubleshooting
  • Ability to operate in a 24x7 shift environment with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
