Job description

The University of Maine System is seeking a collaborative and customer-focused Software Support Analyst to join our Enterprise Services team. In this role, you’ll support and enhance the enterprise applications that faculty, staff, and students rely on every day. The anticipated start date for this position is in October 2026.

Working closely with business partners, technical teams, and software vendors, you’ll help configure enterprise systems, troubleshoot complex issues, improve business processes, and implement new functionality that supports the mission of Maine’s public universities.

What You’ll Do

As a Software Support Analyst, you will:

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise applications.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to analyze needs and recommend technology solutions.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate resolutions with technical teams and software vendors.
  • Participate in software implementations, upgrades, testing, and system enhancements.
  • Support application security, system integrations, and data integrity.
  • Develop user documentation and deliver training to system users.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve business processes and enhance enterprise systems., Important items to know about the recruitment process:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience supporting enterprise business applications, business systems analysis, software implementation, or application administration.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:

  • Enterprise applications such as ERP, HRIS, Finance, CRM, or Student Information Systems.
  • SQL or other database query languages.
  • APIs, system integrations, and data exchange processes.
  • Java, JavaScript, or other object-oriented programming languages.
  • Higher education or another large, complex organization.
  • Accessibility standards and Universal Design principles.
