  • We are seeking a hands-on, highly technical Web Tech Manager to lead a web maintenance pod supporting high-traffic, customer-facing brand websites.
  • This is not a coordination-only or pass-through role you are expected to be the strongest technical person on the pod, able to open the code and diagnose issues yourself, while also managing the team’s delivery.
  • Embedded onsite in Miami, you will own the pod’s day-to-day delivery, be the primary technical point of contact to the client, and report to the Web Tech Lead.

Technical Leadership Non-Negotiable (per client expectation)

This role is filled by the highest-expertise engineer on the team, who happens to also manage it. Specifically, you must be able to:

  • Independently investigate and diagnose issues read the code, inspect the logs, and reach a hypothesis without handing every technical question to a developer.
  • Act as a full-stack technical leader, not associated with front-end or a single technology comfortable moving across front-end, backend, and QA.
  • Be dynamic and hands-on: jump into development, debugging, or QA yourself when the situation calls for it.
  • Earn the team’s and client’s trust through demonstrated technical depth, not just process and status reporting.
  • A candidate who primarily coordinates and defers technical questions to developers is not a fit for this role.

Team You’ll Lead:

  • You will directly manage a pod of approximately eight engineers,
  • You own their day-to-day assignment, mentoring, capacity planning, and delivery quality., Front-End:
  • JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript
  • React, Angular, and Vue.js
  • HTML5, CSS3,
  • Responsive and mobile-first design (Flexbox, CSS Grid)

Content Management Systems:

  • Nice to have understanding on Enterprise CMS platforms Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Ektron, Drupal

Backend & Integration:

  • JVM-based services (Scala / Java)
  • REST APIs and service integration
  • MySQL and relational database fundamentals

DevOps, CI/CD & Version Control:

  • Git and GitHub
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • TFS and Azure DevOps
  • Change management workflows (e.g., ServiceNow)
  • Blue/green deployment patterns
  • Containerization and Kubernetes (a plus)

Monitoring & Observability:

  • Datadog, New Relic, and Catchpoint (or comparable)
  • Log analysis and incident triage

Quality & Testing:

  • Nice to have Automated testing frameworks Playwright, Karate, Gatling
  • Cross-browser and device testing
  • Performance, SEO, and accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1 / ADA)

Collaboration & Project Tooling:

  • Jira and Confluence, * Own end-to-end pod delivery managing maintenance tickets and enhancements from intake through deployment and closure, meeting SLAs and quality bars.
  • Lead technically personally investigate hard issues, review code and approaches, and unblock the team with real technical guidance.
  • Lead the team assign and balance work across developers and QA, run standups, mentor, and manage performance and growth.
  • Coordinate releases oversee the deployment lifecycle across QA staging production, including change-order approval and post-release validation.
  • Drive production stability partner with SRE/NOC on incident triage and escalation; own root-cause follow-up and reduction of recurring issues.
  • Be the client technical POC field prioritization and technical questions directly, and represent the pod in program-level conversations.
  • Uphold quality & compliance ensure work meets performance, cross-browser, SEO, and accessibility standards before release.
  • Report up - provide clear status, risk, and escalation reporting to the Web Tech Lead.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in web/software delivery, with 3+ years managing engineering teams or maintenance pods while remaining hands-on technically.
  • Full-stack engineering background with the ability to read and debug production code across front-end and backend.
  • Proven experience running a run-the-business / production maintenance team owning an incident and enhancement queue.
  • Track record in the US market, ideally within large-scale digital transformation or legacy-modernization programs.
  • Experience as a client-facing technical lead managing stakeholder expectations and translating business priorities into engineering execution.
  • Strong Agile/Scrum delivery experience sprint planning, grooming, estimation, capacity planning, and release management.
  • Hands-on experience across both legacy and modern web platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences., * Experience in travel, hospitality, cruise, or e-commerce web platforms.
  • Experience supporting a multi-brand website portfolio with shared and brand-specific components.
  • Prior experience within a digital migration / legacy-modernization program.
  • Familiarity with search technologies OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or Algolia.
