Job description
Leidos is seeking a F5 Load Balance Network Engineer to support a large enterprise IT contract for the DOD. This role is responsible for implementation, operations, and maintenance of load balancer technologies in a global enterprise across multiple networks. Duties include upgrading to new technologies, tuning performance, and implementation of critical system patches. This infrastructure may include on-premises and cloud resources. This individual will work in a team environment to ensure mission needs are met for internal and external customers., * Ensure Secure Socket Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) offloading and brokering PKI authentication features provided by the F5 appliance is operational at all times.
- Ensure load balancing configurations and PKI certificates are backed up in accordance with customer policies.
- Alert load balancing and reverse proxy customers prior to PKI certificate expiration and assist with certificate renewals as necessary.
- Create, manage, and troubleshoot load balanced IP address spaces.
- Develop and implement technical solutions in collaboration with engineers and architects.
- Provide after-hours support to 24/7/365 IT Operations Center personnel to assist with troubleshooting service outages.
- Develop and update technical solutions, operating procedures and other documentation for 24/7/365 IT Operations Center personnel to assist with initial troubleshooting and triage efforts.
Requirements
- Knowledge of standards, concepts, and tools to be able to complete technology monitoring and management of F5 appliances.
- Technical knowledge backing up PKI certificates and appliance configurations.
- Experience creating, managing, and troubleshooting load balanced IP address spaces.
- Experience working independently in support of customer requirements.
- Experience interfacing with team members on requirements and solutions.

Familiar with IT Service Management products such as ServiceNow.
- Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoDM 8140.03 (previously DoD 8570) - IT System Admin Intermediate certification requirements (Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+ CE, GSEC, or higher).

Candidate must possess an F5 Certified Administrator (201) or higher certification.

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with at least 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Due to the nature of the government contracts we support, US Citizenship is required.
- TS/SCI with Poly required for Position or TS/SCI and willingness to obtain and maintain a polygraph.

Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00
