AI-Powered Automation and App Design Instructor

The AI-Powered Automation and App Design Instructor will be responsible for developing and teaching one or more of the following course topics: Automations with AI, Agentic Development, Building Connected Workflows. This Noncredit Instructor is a temporary (per course), part-time, non-tenured position for our Professional Development and Lifelong Learning Programs.

The Noncredit Instructor will teach assigned courses using a pre-developed curriculum. The course is fully online and uses a blend of synchronous and asynchronous instructional methods. Live instruction is done through a weekly Zoom session. Asynchronous instruction is done through the university’s learning management system, Canvas.

Each course will last 6 weeks. During the instructional phase of this position, the Noncredit Instructor is expected to be engaged and available for a total of 10 weeks, including the 3 weeks prior to the course start date and 3 weeks after the course end date., Section Prep 5%

1. Record and post introduction video.
2. Send course introduction email.
3. Verify dates and contents of course site are correct. Make any needed updates and corrections.
4. Open the course and modules.

Live Instruction 25%

1. Prepare for weekly Zoom sessions following a structure provided by the pre-designed curriculum.
2. Facilitate weekly zoom sessions as scheduled by the department and following the expectations in the instructor handbook.

Learning Assessment and Feedback 60%

1. Evaluate submitted work to determine if each learner has achieved the course learning objectives.
2. Provide feedback to learners to help them develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to achieve the course learning outcomes.
3. Submit final grades.

Support Learners 10%

1. Respond to learner questions about course content and logistics by email or other communication means within the learning management system.
2. Meet with learners by Zoom as needed and at mutually agreed upon times to provide assistance in understanding course content and activities.

• Bachelor’s degree
• Four years of work experience related to the subject matter
• A demonstrated commitment, knowledge, and skills to promote and enhance a climate that is supportive of diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Deep knowledge of the course subject matter
• Ability to explain concepts in ways that help others learn
• Ability to provide feedback that both encourages and helps learners develop knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, * Master’s degree and at least six or more years of work experience related to the subject matter
• Experience teaching adult learners in both live and asynchronous contexts
• Experience developing and/or teaching topics related to data analysis
• Ability to evaluate learner’s work (e.g. course projects) to determine if they demonstrate achievement of course learning outcomes

Compensation is paid on a per course basis. For each course section, the Noncredit Instructor will be paid $2,713.
