Job description

This role focuses on accurately entering and tracking waste stream data, supporting regulatory compliance, and preparing documentation and shipping paperwork within an environmental services treatment plant. The position requires strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of hazardous materials regulations, and proficiency with Microsoft Office to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Enter data into a computerized tracking database to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all waste streams processed at the treatment plant.

  • Identify and classify all incoming waste streams at the treatment plant in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.

  • Prepare and maintain documentation required for regulatory compliance, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely submission.

  • Generate shipping paperwork and labels for the operations team, ensuring they meet hazardous materials and environmental regulatory standards.

  • Verify that all documentation, labels, and shipping records align with applicable regulations, including 29 CFR and 40 CFR requirements.

  • Collaborate with plant operations and other internal teams to ensure proper handling, tracking, and documentation of hazardous materials.

  • Use Microsoft Office applications to create, update, and manage reports, spreadsheets, and compliance records.

  • Support audits and inspections by providing accurate data, documentation, and evidence of compliance with environmental and hazardous materials regulations., This position operates within a treatment plant environment focused on environmental services and hazardous materials management. You will work closely with plant operations teams and use computerized tracking databases and Microsoft Office applications throughout the day. The role involves consistent interaction with regulatory documentation, shipping paperwork, and labeling activities, requiring careful adherence to environmental and hazardous materials regulations such as 29 CFR and 40 CFR. The work setting emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and accurate data management to support reliable and compliant plant operations.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including the ability to manage data, reports, and documentation in applications such as Word and Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when entering and reviewing data in computerized tracking systems.

  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements to documentation, labeling, and shipping processes.

  • Effective written communication skills to prepare clear and compliant documentation and records.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, environmental technology, or a related discipline.

  • Prior experience working in a treatment plant, waste management, or environmental compliance setting.

  • Familiarity with computerized tracking databases used for waste stream or hazardous materials management.

  • Organizational skills to manage multiple documentation and compliance tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to collaborate with operations and compliance personnel to support safe and efficient plant activities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hatfield, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
