Job description

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications in electrical engineering and software-related technologies.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their inventions and draft patent applications.
  • Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Communicate with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) regarding patent applications.

Requirements

A law firm seeks a patent agent to join their Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Patent Prosecution Practice Group in Wilmington, DE. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, relevant industry experience, and excellent writing and communication skills., * 2+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.

  • Experience in machine learning, telecommunications, autonomous driving, RF circuitry, or hardware security preferred.
  • Admission to the USPTO is required., * Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, or physics., * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
