Job description
We are seeking an experienced IT Governance Policy Analyst to support the Department of Technology in developing, reviewing, and maintaining administrative and technology governance policies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in drafting IT governance policies, researching public sector technology standards, and collaborating with executive leadership and legal teams., * Draft, review, and maintain Administrative Technology and IT Governance policies for the Department of Technology.
- Research IT governance policies, standards, and best practices from state agencies, counties, municipalities, universities, and other public sector organizations.
- Develop policy frameworks aligned with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with Department of Technology leadership, senior staff, and legal teams to review, revise, and finalize technology policies.
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations, facilitate policy workgroup meetings, and document meeting outcomes.
- Analyze current policies and recommend updates based on emerging technologies, governance frameworks, and regulatory changes.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience writing Administrative and Technology (IT Governance) policies and procedures.
- 3+ years of experience researching market trends, governance frameworks, and best practices for public sector IT organizations.
- Experience developing or maintaining enterprise IT governance documentation.
- Strong technical writing, policy development, and analytical research skills.
- Experience collaborating with executive leadership, legal teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook., * Experience working with state, county, municipal, or higher education organizations.
- Knowledge of IT governance frameworks (COBIT, ITIL, NIST, ISO 27001, or similar).
- Experience facilitating meetings and presenting policy recommendations to leadership.
