Job description

Under general supervision, designs, codes, tests and deploys software in all layers of the development life cycle. Provides the necessary documentation., This role will help build and scale a comprehensive suite of cloud-based Retail Solutions that power everything from shipping and packing to advanced parcel management services. The position focuses on building strong full-stack engineering fundamentals while applying modern SDLC practices, including cloud-native application deployment and responsible use of AI-enabled development tools, within established architectures and standards.

  1. Design, build, and deploy highly scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native applications.

  2. Own and support automated software builds and releases using modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

  3. Actively participate in peer code reviews, applying and sharing constructive feedback to maintain high code quality and architectural standards.

  4. Proactively troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues to ensure system reliability.

  5. Collaborate in Agile ceremonies and follow modern SDLC processes to deliver value incrementally.

Requirements

  1. Hands-on experience developing enterprise software using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular, with a solid grasp of 12-factor cloud-native architecture.

  2. Strong understanding of RESTful API design, microservices, and server-side development.

  3. Proven ability to manage and deliver assigned tasks efficiently within an Agile framework.

  4. Excellent analytical, communication, and collaborative problem-solving skills to work effectively in a team environment.

  5. Development experience using cloud platforms like Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) considered a plus.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s Degree/equivalent in computer science, engineering, or information systems and/or equivalent.

Minimum Experience

One (1) year work experience in information technology or engineering environment.

Domicile Information

The preferred location for this hybrid position is Plano, TX. However, we will consider candidates based elsewhere within the United States (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories). Candidates residing within 50 miles of a FedEx campus will be required to work on-site at a FedEx location several times per week.
