Job description

To strengthen our team, we are looking for one for our location in Oberhausen (or throughout Germany with a high remote share of 90-95%) as soon as possible Test Automation Engineer - Focus on Databases (m/f/d) What you can expect from us: As part of the team, you are responsible for developing and maintaining automated tests of our database software. Based on the existing requirements, you create test cases and corresponding test scripts, define the necessary test data and implement them in Java or PL/SQL, using established frameworks for test automation. Another focus of your work is testing solutions that are based on Oracle DB. In doing so, you will test the functionality, performance, and scalability of the respective database implementations. You carry out the automated tests, evaluate the results and correct any errors that occur in order to continuously increase both the accuracy and reliability of the tests. You’ll also work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that test automation meets their expectations. In addition, you are responsible for testing database migrations as part of release changes and thus ensuring the smooth introduction of new software versions. Your training is supported by experienced and helpful colleagues. During this phase, you will get to know the software and our development tools so that you can then solve your own tasks independently. Of course, you have the opportunity to take part in training courses and internal lecture series to learn about innovations, deepen techniques or broaden your horizons.

Requirements

  • Completed technical or scientific studies (computer science, mathematics, physics, or comparable degree program) or a comparable qualification with appropriate professional experience on the job market or several years of experience as a test automation engineer or Java developer
  • Experience with common test automation tools such as UTPLsql or JUnit
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual and creative skills with a high and solution-oriented way of working
  • Experience with interdisciplinary, cross-functional teams
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
